I created a fresh project, with just one virtual instrument created with the output "surround". What do you mean "Project’s preferences AND settings" were set to 5.1? I only know about the Project Settings -> audio to set the surround mode and my understanding is that the only place surround shows up in the preferences is the I/O assignments, which is independent of the actual mode of the project. 7.6 said something about fixing a bug about "printing" the surround channels in the correct order but I'm not on Catalina so I can't try it. It seems very simply that the internal routing order of inputs for surround in Logic is different from that assumed by nx. ![]() I keep staring at the appendix of the nx virtual room manual, which says what inputs go to what speakers, but I can't figure out what "input" means in this context. The Waves website says that nx virtual room version 12 does not support 7.1 surround in Logic Pro, but it seems to be almost working, and 5.1 isn't much better: In 7.1, regardless of my Logic output assignments, the logic surround panner speakers map to the nx speakers like this: It would be really really nice to have even a weak simulation of the spatial relationship with the sounds. Do I need to do something special to get nx and Logic to play nice together for 7.1 surround? Video head tracking is working fine, based on the graphics.Ĭan I hope that nx will let me get some sense of position in the 7.1 space? I know I will have to use real speakers duplicating the room setup when I do the real mixing, but I have to do most of my production in headphones.
